Miss Shela                                                    Detroit Rock City Photography

Miss Shela is an Ann Arbor-based photographer who spends at least as much time in The Motor City covering musical events that range from BB King to Rob Zombie and everything in between. She is a regular contributor to The Metro Times Magazine and the Examiner.com.  She is also a correspondence for Backstageaxxess.com, Rockaxxess.com and High Times Magazine. Miss Shela’s creative endeavors are indeed diverse. Aside from her photography, she is also a well known postcard artist. One of her more renowned images of the legendary Ypsilanti Water Tower is seen not only on postcards, but on refrigerator magnets as well. Though perhaps best known for her rock photography, Miss Shela’s erotic photography has been featured in the annual Detroit “Dirty Show,” for several years. Some of Miss Shela’s most poignant work is her continuing series on Detroit’s abandoned buildings along with her other worldly travels. These images at once capture beauty and the poetry of the passage of time.
